help with complex formulas

I download information from another piece of software into
excel. In one cell I need to get a price from another
spreadsheet and the price is contingent on 1 of 6 items.
Is it possible to create a formula that gets the price if
the item varies? If it is possible please give
instructions. Thanx

you may provide some mnore details but maybe VLOOKUP is what you're
looking for. Provide some sample data (plain text - no attachment
please) and describe your expected result
