Does anyone know where I can get templates for decadry papers/cards for
Publisher ? (I've tried working in Word, but images have a line I can't get
rid of.)

Decadry has its own templates program available in special packs.. if you go
to your Decadry retailer, you will see the packs specially marked..

In the meantime, you can get a free wizard for MS Word as far back as MS
Word 6 for Win 3.1..

It appears they are a different size than I'm accustomed to seeing. I'm not
familiar with this brand. If you can get the size of the cards and the
margins, you could set up your own template.

The OP is a Brit living in the West Midland area.. Decadry is a French
company that markets a good range of quality papers et al which are on sale
at all PC World outlets in the UK and across Europe.. they also manufacture
'dry' lettering and other office products..

Of no value to settlers in the New World other than FYI..

Not necessarily - if they need a template, they need a template. That could
explain why the Word add-in failed on my system.

The basic idea is that you buy a pack of business cards that has the Decadry
CD enclosed.. a starter pack, if you want to put a label on it.. thereafter,
you can purchase packs of any design.. the CD is not always in the same
design pack, so you don't necessarily get stuck with an unwanted design..

Unfortunately, PC World staff are no better than their New World cousins at
Best Buy, CompUSA, Future Shop and Staples (Office depot).. the single brain
cell is given to the first member of staff to arrive for work, thereafter
being shared on a rota based on the amount of times they ask "Do you need
help?".. the reason for staff members getting into little groups is so that
they can check name badges against the name that they came to work with.. it
is not a deliberate attempt to snub customers who are about to walk out of
the store with business cards for which they have no template..

As I remember, the software is quite good and ships with fonts and clipart..
as per Avery UK stuff, Decadry only appears to work with UK operating
systems..

Not Toronto.. a small place roughly one hour to the east of Ottawa.. much
nicer.. and before that, I was located in Spain.. it has been 'awhile' since
last I lived in the UK..

Re. labels, Avery are undoubtedly the best, and a piece of cake in MS Word..
I now use the limited version of DesignPro..

But Avery business cards are dull.. Decadry go some way to producing stuff
like PaperDirect, albeit a much reduced and more 'whimsical' range.. they
also do heavyweight cards.. the major problem is finding a retailer with a
good range of the product line.. and like Avery, they have a dedicated
program..

These days, it is easier to come by Avery.. we can get cheapo Staples/Office
Depot stock, but the results are not so good, and the card feels decidedly
cheap..

Thank you to all who replied - - I do have the Decadry software which I
bought last year the only problem to working in word is I cannot place the
pics/logo exactly where I need them - so I wanted to use publisher - Also -
the card numbers do not match any Decadry template numbers which funnily
enough are Decadry cards ???
confused am I. - I have loaded a .doc into publisher (the template I was
trying) - now of course I can't find how to lock the table in place, when I
try to put a pic into a cell the table vanishes - maybe you are right - I
might have to make my own template ?

The template I told you about is for MS Word, not Publisher.. if you want to
use Publisher, you will have to make up your own.. Publisher does not get
much credibility in the business world..

Why don't you use the Decadry software?..

Hi Mike - The decadry cards I have are noted SCW2090 also 327,3327,2090,6327
- the templates I have on the program and from the decadry site do not list
the cards - a search on the decadry site say this is not one of their
products ???
The decadry software is extremely basic - I need to insert my own
logo/artwork/pictures - not very good for what I need. Word isn't much
better, the pictures have a line around the edges and there is not much
control as the where the pictures end up - some of my pictures have to be
layered - publisher is my only hope. Anyhow, thanks mike - and others, who
made suggestions, - appreciated.

Does the Decadry software tell you how big the cars are and what (if any)
waste allowance there is?
