help with junk filtering

There's a certain address from a place of business that I order things
from requently, and the address does start with "sales@" but I don't
want it to be filtered. I'm using XP with Office 2000, and Outlook
filters this email every time, even though I have told it to not
consider that address or domain as junk....it just keeps doing it. Is
there anything else I can do to absolutley white list an address? Are
there other ways to tell it not to filter it? I have the outlook junk
filter set to LOW.

Nope, only outlook, including filters I have set up, but I can't find
anything in the messages that I have filter, and besides, shoulnd't the
whitelist be the first thing that happens?

Yes, it should be the first thing that happens. You don't happen to have
any additional rules (Tools | Rules Wizard) that move messages to junk do
you?

Apparently there is something else I have to do, since the whitelist is
not helping this address from being filtered.

Well -- to be honest I've seen some issues in the past wtih items that
shouldn't be caught getting caught despite the whitelist. So it may just be
a bug, I'm sorry to say.

I'll look into it a bit, but if it's as straight-forward as you say then I'm
afraid that's about all there is. The whitelist should take precedent
unless you have another rule somewhere that is moving this message (the Safe
Senders list has no effect on Rules Wizard rules).

Howdy,

This is not a direct answer to your question, but...

Were I in your shoes, I would get a copy of SpamBayes. It is
free, and rarely have I seen software that works as well.

It is available from:

http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/

All the best,
