Help with Location of ENT 2004 Database file

I am really confused about the Created and Modified dates on the
Entourage "Database" file that is nested in my

user/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2001 Identities/Main Identity

folder.

I am using Entourage:Mac 2004 version 11.2.4, and wonder if I should
change the folder name from "Office 2002 Identities" to Office 2004
Identities?

The nested "Database" file shows it was Created on Sunday, June 2, 2002
at 9:34AM and was last Modified Sunday, June 2, 2002 at 9:34AM and is
not being updated.

Something tells me this is an old folder that should have been trashed
when I updated to Ent 2004. I would hate to delete it and find out I
trashed all of my mail.

The question is location of the real Entourage 2004 Database file on my
hard drive? The above listed file is the only one I have been able to
find.

Should Entourage change the Modified data on the Database file?

Help.... I am confused.

Entourage 2004 requires its database to be in ~/Documents/Microsoft User
Data/Office 2004 Identities/<user identity>/. The Office 2001 folder which
you mention is from a previous version of Office and should not affect your
current database in any way. You never mention if there is a Office 2004
Identities folder as well, but I'll just assume there is one, for reasons
mentioned above.

You should *not* rename the "2001" folder to "2004", since the database in
the "2001" folder is not a 2004 database, which uses a different format. For
that reason, renaming it will only cause problems. Your assumption that this
is an old folder that is no longer necessary is quite correct, but if you
still feel uncertain about it, quit Entourage, move the Office 2001
identities folder to the desktop, and then relaunch Entourage. If you still
have all your mail messages, then you can safely delete the folder, or back
it up.

Thanks Michel,

I solve the problem by TRASHING the old Office 2001 folder when I found
the Office 2004 folder.
