I need to know how to transfer, in tact, a formatted word document to
an Entourage X email, in the text area, not as an attachment. Thanks.

I need to know how to transfer, in tact, a formatted word document to
an Entourage X email, in the text area, not as an attachment.

If you use Office 2004, you can use File > Send As > Mail Recipient in Word
2004 to do this. I do not know how "intact" the result will be in Entourage
2004.

There may be other ways, particularly with scripts, to get close to what you
want in your older version of Office.

Ultimately, an attachment seems like it will preserve the most formatting.

That ability was added in Entourage 2004; it does not exist in Entourage X.
The best you can try is to copy the entire Word document in Word, then
switch to Entourage, open a new message, set it to HTML, and paste. Odds are
the document formatting will not render 100%, but that's as close as you are
going to get.

Why are you unable to send it as an attachment? That will transfer the Word
doc intact.

You should be able to simply copy the Word text then paste it into an email.

This is going to be an invitation to an educational seminar. I am
sending it to hundreds of teachers, and I seriously doubt that they
would open an attachment, especially with PC's. So would like to have
it formatted in the text of the email. Would it work, defintely in
Office 2004? Thanks, Susan

The best way, as has been stated, would be to save the Word document and
attach it to the message. Another option would be to save as a PDF (File >
Print) and attach it.

If you are intent on having the document appear in the message body as it
appears in Word, go to File > Save as Web Page to save the document as an
HTML file. Then, use the "Send Complex HTML X" script to send the document
as an e-mail. Note that your success may be limited, especially if the
document has sounds, movies, or images.

Absolutely! In Word 2004, there is a File menu item to Send the current
document as HTML or as an attachment. You must complete the editing in Word;
you cannot edit any further in Entourage.

Now is a good time to get Office 2004; the educational price is something
like $79 after rebate on Amazon.
