I am trying to retrieve data from a alphanumeric name in a table but I only
want to retrieve the first 5 characters (which should be numbers only) of
that name and update to a new field. However, there are some records that
only have 4 numbers but will be followed by a dash or a letter. Is there a
way to write an update query that will give me the 4 numbers and then maybe
add a zero or show nothing rather that displaying the extra symbol or letter
in that field for a 5th character? Any help would be wonderful! Thanks!
