help!

I NEED HELP! i moved the files of my entourage account and i believe
it created a new one. i don't know how to go back or retrieve
something that i may of deleted. my account and everything is gone.
can ANYONE help! thanks. pat

Hi,

Goto <hard disk>/Users/home folder(folder with home
icon)/Documents/Microsoft User Data .

If you are using Office X then open Office X Identities folder or if you are
using Office 2004 then open Office 2004 Identities folder.

Check which folder you have there. This folder contains all Entourage
Identities.

Open the folder and double click on file called Database.

This will automatically launch Entourage... When Entourage is launched,
check whether you are able to see all your mails.

If not check for the Similar files under Microsoft User Data and try
opening.

If you have deleted these files then you can use some third party utilities
like norton disk doctor to retrieve the mails... but the chances of files
getting retrieved is not guranteed.

Note: If you have created any new identity then try to go back to the old
identity and check. To swith between the identities; goto Entourage menu and
select Switch identity and select the desired Identity ( if you have
multiple identity) and check.

Hope this resolves your issue.

Begin by assuming everything is still there. Note that Entourage expects
your Identities folder to be in Users/YourUserName/Documents/Microsoft User
Data/Office Identities. If you moved it, then a new one will be created, and
you won't see your old account.

Do a search on "Main Identity" and you'll likely find the original. Move it
back to the proper location, and everything will be back to normal.

This happens often, and the information is almost never lost -- just
misplaced.
