Hidden messages (can't see messages that ARE there)

I have Entourage:Mac v. 10.1.1

I am having a problem where messages that are in fact in my
e-mail (I can see them if I go to my web-browser connection
to me e-mail) do not appear in my e-mail list. Effectively
it looks like messages just randomly disappear (in fact I
thought they had, until I saw them when I happened to be
checking mail from the web.)

Has anyone had this problem?

What can I do to make the re-appear, or at the very least
stop them from disappearing in the future.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

What sort of mail account are you using? POP, IMAP, Hotmail, or Exchange?

If you're using IMAP, try opening the folder and pressing Option (Alt) -
Command (Apple) - L. That does a special repair of the message list and
should force the list to match the server contents if for some reason they
are not the same. I've had success doing that wit one of my IMAP accounts.

If you are using POP, do you have the "Leave messages on server..." option
checked in Tools -> Accounts / Options tab?

I'm using IMAP. I tried the Option-Apple-L, but no good...
I have also rebuilt my database. Very strange- but I
guess this does happen to others...

Change that- I did get it to work, after I selected Live
sync in my options.

Thanks much!
