Hide Safeguards automatically? (2nd posting)

Hi

I have automatic safeguard activated so I get a copy at the moment of
opening a .doc or .wdb (latter becomes .BDB when safeguarded)

Problem is these extra copies are too visible and make it hard to find other
..docs with the naked eye.

Is there ny way of automatically hiding them and if it's a case of a macro,
please explain really clearly what to do cos me and macros are almost total
strangers.
