Highlighting ROWS in CF????

I would like to achieve this without VB, but not sure if its possible.
All other threads Ive read dont mention anything about it. Say I
select "Cancelled" from a drop-down list in U1. If "Cancelled" is
selected, can CF highlight a range within a row, or the entire row???
This would need to apply to each row in the sheet so Im not sure....
Im just kinda John Kerry'd about the whole thing

It's a little unclear what your objective is, but if you
want to color each row in the worksheet if U1
= "Cancelled", do this

1. Press Ctrl+A.
2. Go to Format > Conditional Formatting
3. Select "Formula Is" and put:
=$U$1="Cancelled"
4. Press the Format radio button and select a color.

Your screen may not update immediately. I had to move my
cursor around a little.

Select A1 to U1.
While *still* selected,
<Format> <ConditionalFormat>
Expand the first box and choose "FormulaIs".
Enter in the next box:
=$U1="cancelled"
Choose your format under the "Patterns" tab,
Then <OK> <OK>.

NOW, select all of Row1.
Click on the "FormatPainter" icon (yellow brush),
Click on Row2, and drag down to copy the format as far as needed.

Now, any row where column U has " cancelled" entered in it, that row will
become colored, as you selected, from Column A to Column U.
