Is there any shortcut key (like Ctl C for copy) that we can use for Coloring
a cell.

I actually need to copy certain data from an excel sheet to another system.
Since this is a fairly large data, it becomes difficult for me to remember
the last copied data. Is there any thing I could do to color the cells that
have been copied?
THis way, I will kno that all the cells colored in a particular color are
the ones that have been copied already.

Nope Bob. That will not serve my purpose. Coz I would still need to continue
clicking on that icon. I am copying the data one by one. As in i copy Cell
A1, paste it into the system. Come back to the excel, Copy Cell A2, paste it
into the system.
So each time i do this, i would need to keep using the format paint brush.
I was just wondering if we have a short cut to color a cell. As in, i do
Ctrl "x" (for coloring, then i do Ctrl "C" and then paste this data.

Are the cells that you are copying different colours/formats, or all the
same? Are they contiguous?

Can't you just click the Fill Color icon immediately before you copy
the cell?

Nope. I need to copy the Invoice Date, Customer's Name, the Contact Number,
the address, date of delivery, etc. So the formats are not the same. And they
are not contiguous!
I might have to copy row 1 first...then i need to copy row 10...depending on
the date of delivery.

The idea is - not to use the mouse. f

Yes, but if you are not using the mouse for copying, then you can
leave the mouse pointer resting on the Fill icon and then you only
need to click the mouse button - similar to a keyboard in this respect
<g>.

Record a macro of filling the cell.
Then set whatever shortcut you want.

I used to do this, as long as theyre all the same colour its perfect.

Hope this helps.
