Hit Counter problems

W

Who Cares?

I accidentally rest the hit counter and need to set the count back up
(I don't want my site to look like no one every visits). I double
clicked on it and checked the box "Reset Counter To" and put in 865.
Then I saved and published but it won't reset. Anybody know what is
wrong? Is their a counter stored somewhere on the host with this #
that may have gotten corrupted?

In your _private folder, there will be a page with the same name as the page
your counter is on, but it will end in .cnt.

Open it in Notepad and edit the number and save.

Rich,

I am having similar problems. The counter won't reset properly and won't
increment. I went to the .cnt file to edit it as you suggested, and it has the
proper number in it already.

Judging from the questions on the subject there must be a bug in FrontPage
2000??? Or what?

Rich: You must do it on the online web, not on your client. Did you?
