Home page won't lock

Pete

I'm trying to fix my dad's PC, which is on Windows Millenium Edition, and
when I set the home page on Internet Explorer to his favorite site
(www.google.com) it works a few times but then switches to the same
non-working non-url as follows:

http://-cgi/0.1b

I have done the delete cookies and delete all offline content options, but
this thing keeps coming back. I've done the resetting on Properties after
right-clicking on Internet Explorer, and also via the Control Panel, but
always this non-url pops back up.

Thanks!

Peter

Pete,
Suggestions:
Update and run your virus software. Also, you could run this program:
http://www.download.com/3000-8022-10045910.html
There are others that do the same and may be better, to give you a second
opinion on spy / ad programs on your system.
Also, you should have a firewall running.
Better, buy your Dad a new computer for Christmas!

Thanks! I'm running the update to the adware and will take 2 of your 3 other
suggestions near term!
