Horizontal Scrolling & Decimal numbers for hours

G

Glenward

I am trying to use Project 2003 like Excel - to keep the name column static
while horizontally scrolling to allow me to see one of my many other columns.
The only way I have found is to rename the ID column(the grey one on the
extreme left) as Name, but this is not completely satisfactory.

Second problem: - Can I remove decimals from the hours shown on the task
usage pages ?

Hi Glenward ,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

View/Table:Entry/More tables.../Edit.../ in the Table Definition dialog,
note the check mark to lock the first column. So, select the Name row and
click Cut Row. Now select the ID row and click Paste Row. OK your way out
and that should do what you want.

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

Mike, thanks for the first part answer, which I will try out, but what about the second part ? - decimal hours on the task usage sheet. I would like to have them whole.

Sorry, forgot about that :(

No, you cannot remove the decimals shown in the Task Usage sheet. I suppose
you could insert a Custom column and round the hours figures, you could then
hide the Work column, but this would not affect the decimal in the cells.
