How can I eliminate the screen redraw flashing when browsing web pages?

Dan V.

How can I eliminate the screen redraw flashing when I look at one or more
related pages on a website?
All pages have the same layout. They use 4 includes that hold about 60-25%
of the pages data.

Everything below the header include seems to re-draw everytime...?

What are the rules for re-drawing web pages? When do they redraw?

Thank you kindly,

Include page are not "cached"
- they are design time tools that are hard coded into the page using the include on file save
So each page will have to be rendered ("redrawn") separately even if 99% is an include
- the only reason the header may appear to not "redraw" is it may have an image in it that is cached

Thank you,

You are right, my header is mostly an image! How do you cache html then? or
is there another way? Are FrontPage templates better then? Or Dreamweaver
templates?

Google for "FOUC" - it's probably the Flash of Unstyled Content. You can
fix it by linking to ANYTHING in the head of the document, even a
nonexistent js or CSS file.

Nor a question of any templates
- it's the way html and the internet works
- and the way you design your pages
Provide a URL

I am linking to a number of things in the <head>
If you would like to see an example of what I mean see: mtrservicescorp.com

I don't see any screen redraws
- but dialup or slow broadband will
But you can definitely clean up your pages
- remove all spaces from all files / folder - you will get broken links especially from scripts
- remove unnecessary divs in cells for alignment
- reduce nested tables where not needed
- do some image compression (60 Kb on home page is high)

Maybe we are nicer here (-;

| Are you in the correct forum? All these pages have been built with
| Dreamweaver.
