How can I get multiple font colors in my Contacts?

In the notes Section of a Contact card, I used to be able to change the font
colors so that my eye would be drawn to certain items. Now, when I highlight
text & change the font, as soon as I save & close it, the changes disappear.
I actually have 1 contact card that was forwarded to me by another user &
that card actually will retain the different font colors I select.
I am using version 2003. Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.
