how can i get the count of table records in ASP?

I used the movelast and movefirst and recordcount but it generates an Error:
Technical Information (for support personnel)
Error Type:
Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80040E24)
Rowset does not support fetching backward.

Ahmed -
Most likely caused by opening the database with the default cursor. Take
