How can I print in clear black and white from color slides?

I have a color background that looks great when projected or on the screen.
But when you print, it is too dark. I have tried grayscale and pure black
and white...with the same outcome.

Thanks for the help

My idea was to add a rectangle Autoshape that covers the entire slide, then,
set the fill to white color, while its transparency setting to 50% or
something so that it looks brighter.

The work and printer use different methods for displaying color(CMYK, RGB).
Hence, what you have printed may not match what you have seen on the screen.
