How can i read my documents in english?

It is set for english but when I download a doc. from the internet I can not
open it in english.

You are aware that Word doesn't translate from other languages, aren't you?

I'm not sure what you are trying to do, but the language version you
are using does not also mean 'translation'. It means you will see your
menus, Help, etc in English.

If you are referring to the Language options then this is for the
proofing tools - not translation.

If you have Word 2003 then you can use the Research task pane and the
Translation option to translate the document. However, keep in mind,
it will not be a perfect translation but you should be able to follow
the content.
