How can values in previous rows in a repeating table be locked by a JScript in an InfoPath 2003 temp

I have a quite specific challange with an InfoPath 2003 template using
JScripting creating locks in repeating tables.

I want to make a JScript which can set a value for a specific column in
a given row in a repeating table.

Eventually this is supposed to be used to add a row to a repeating
table and lock the values in the previous row by setting a "lock" in
the previous row by using the conditional format, to write protect a
field.

Anyone who can help me out?

I am not a programmer, so please keep any suggestions and solution
examples very simple.
