How do I add a line after text? As in a blank.

I am trying to type up a form in Word so that people can type on it rather
than printing it and filling it out by hand. My boss has given me a short
amount of time to complete this project and I don't even know exactly where
to begin! The form is already typed up, i just have to add the lines, or
"blanks" if you will for people to fill in. We tried the AutoShapes feature
and it kept giving me a large textbox and moveing my text that I need
elsewhere. Please help!
