How do I automatically start & run an exe file in Powerpoint??

I need a program (exe file) to start immediately when I run the slide-show
(i.e. I must not be prompted to click any buttons before the program opens)?

As an example, I want Adobe Acrobat to immediately lauch when I get to a
specific slide in the presentation.
