The default Outlook file will have all of your items in it. The file name will end in .pst To find it search your computer for *.pst files but you must be able to view/search hidden and system files

You probably only have one PST file. You have to be out of Outlook to copy it. Outlook sets up the first PST automatically in a long path that you would have to drill down to get to. I generally delete this and put my file in my documents.

When you open Outlook after deleting the data file it will error and ask where the file is. It opens an explorer locator window so you can navigate to the file in my documents (where you copied it). By doing this it simplifies backup since most things will be in your my documents folder

A .PST file cant be opened like a regular document. You have to open outlook first and then from the file menu chose open .ps

The account settings can be exported to an .aif file. To do this open Outlook and go to accounts and then choose tools account and hit export. If your Outlook is XP or later, it doesn't have this feature. The info is is in the registry but it is best to stay out of the registry and just copy down the info.

Hello Joe,

the following files are the main OL files, you have to save this files.
Or you can google to download a programm which could save your pst file.
the most important file is the *.pst file this file included all mails and
contact.
*.pab is the personal adressbook
*.fav are the favourites
*.wab is the windows adress book
*.rtf are the signatures
*.rtw are all rules you have created
outcmd.dat is the menubar file
and the categories are in
HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Categories!
