how do I change a date to show the year only?

Hi - I have a date that is currently for example 9/28/2007 that I wish to
just say 2007 - but I want to keep the other date as is - can I create a
formula in the column beside it to adjust the date next to it and copy it
down and if so what would that formula be? Thanks so much!

Right-click > Format Cells > Custom > Type > yyyy

With your date in A1, put this in B1 and copy down

=YEAR(A1)

or, just format A1 and/or column A for Custom YYYY.....it will display just
the year, but the rest of the date will still be hidden in the cell.
