How do I change reminder time by groups of contacts

I use reminders in Contacts, and whilst useful, when I have been out of
office for a few days the reminders pile up. I would like to move all of the
"past Due" reminders to a future date.
In Contacts this is cumbersome and needs to be done one at a time.

Any ideas?

If I change the view to Follow up it allows me to move the reminder, but the
contact still remains in the red colour (for overdue) and the actual Due By
in the contact details is still the original time!
