How do I change slide design only one slide?

I am interested in using a particular slide design throughout my PowerPoint
presentation however, the first slide (title page) is a bit too busy and I'd
like to change that to a regular white screen. How do I change slide design
on the first close alone while leaving the rest alone. Everytime I try to
change one, they all change. Thanks.

Click the "Format" menu and select "Background". Click the dropdown and
select your white color. Check the "Omit ..." checkbox. Click "APPLY" (not
Apply to all).

Select the slide to change. Go to slide design. Find the blank design and
hover your mouse over it. You should see a blue drop down arrow to the right.
Choose this and pick "apply to selected slides".
