How do I change the color of a font?

All I want to do is change the color of a font in an email I want to
send. When I go to >Format, and then try going to >Font color...it's
greyed out! I can't seem to do anything to the font! What the heck's
going wrong!

Laurie,
the fact that you can't set any color means that you're sending in plain
text format. Activate Format>HTML first, then everything should work fine.
Alternatively, simply click on the red/blue "ab" icon that's in the lower
left corner of the upper half of a new mail message window. (This sounds
more complicated than it actually is. I'm sure you'll get what I mean!)
If you want to enable HTML by default, go to the Mail & News Preferences,
and under Compose, select HTML as the Mail Format.

Make sure you're in HTML mode, not plain text mode. Plain text doesn't allow
text formatting.

To check, go to FORMAT > HTML and see if it is CHECKED or not.
