How do I change the scroll settings to scroll the page evenly?

I jsut installed a newer version of office (2003) and XP home edition and now
when I try to scroll down the page it scrolls in horizontal blocks and not
evenly. It is the stereotypical type of scroll that happens when you are
thinking faster than the pc and it is trying to catch up, but this happens
all the time. What can I do to change this?

Try reducing the hardware acceleration setting in Start | Control
Panel | Display | Advanced | Troubleshooting. You might also
check the website of the manufacturer of your graphics adapter to
see if an updated graphics driver available.

If g-n-o's advice doesn't help, it's likely that the "elephant software"
(XP and Office 2003) overloaded the "hummingbird computer". If that PC
is on the low end of the hardware requirements, you will need to disable
all of the "features" in XP to get any reasonable performance.
