I need to provide periodic project updates via powerpoint. I need to copy
various portions of my master schedule into the powerpoint presentation to
effectively discuss progress and upcoming major events.

While in Project, and you see something intersting that you wish to put
into PowerPoint file, just "select" it and copy to Windows clipboard,
and then "paste" into PowerPoint page. Use Project's Copy image
function (little camera icon) to get a snapshot of the Gantt chart.

.... this a FAQ for which there is rich info available in the newsgroup
archives.

Hi KeepItSimple,

You can use the Copy Picture button on the Standard toolbar to copy what
you see on screen to a GIF file and embed into a PowerPoint.

Arrange your screen as needed (you may use filters to filter only for
specific tasks) and then set the date range as needed once you have
clicked the Copy Picture button.

You may also use the Copy Picture of Office Wizard button on the
Analysis toolbar (Project 2003). The wizard will walk you through which
fields to show. This actually creates the PowerPoint slide for you.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
