EGF,
First if you are using Project 2003, ensure you have the SP1 update
because as I recall, there was an issue affecting inserted projects that
was addressed by that update.

Here is the process I recommend. First, select the insertion point of
the subproject in the master. Then go to Project/Task
Information/Advanced tab and uncheck the "link to project" box. Hit
"ok". Finally with the subproject insertion point still selected, go to
Edit/Delete Task (or hit the Delete key).

I applied the SP1 and then followed your instructions and I was able to
delete the subproject from the master project. Thanks for your help. This
issue has been frustrating me for weeks.

EGF,
You're welcome. I understand the frustration. I think we've all been
there and experienced that at one time or another with Project.
