How do I delete an outgoing email?

I tried to send an email with an attachment the other day, but after I sent
it I realized that the attachment was too large and thus the mail server
refuses to send it. Not a problem, I though, except that Entourage keeps
sending it over and over and over and...

In OS X's Mail.app there is an "Out" folder, where queued messages sit, and
a "Sent" folder. Entourage only has a "Sent Items" folder and I cannot find
where those outgoing messages reside. I've tried rebuilding the database,
but that didn't help. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mike

I've been wrestling with this problem for days, and 5 minutes after I post
my question to the newsgroup I figure it out. My account is set up as IMAP
and there's no "Out" box, but it never occurred to me to look in the
"Folders on My Computer" folder. When I noticed it and had a look inside
what did I find? An "Out" folder with 2 queued messages. Egads.

Correct - there's only one Outbox. Since any message is being sent from your
computer, the Outbox folder is one of the folders "On My Computer". After a
message has been successfully sent, but not before, a copy is stored in the
designated Sent Items folder. If you're using an IMAP account and have set
up the account settings to use a Sent folder on the IMAP server, then that's
where it will end up. As you normally may have everything you need on the
server (a Drafts folder, Deleted Items folder and a Junk folder as well),
you're probably not accustomed to checking the local folders for anything.
But in the case of a message that isn't accepted by the SMTP server or is
stuck, Outbox is where you'll find it.
