How do I delete many rules at once?

I've somehow ended up with three copies of all my rules (maybe 30 or so?) I
think this happened when importing my old identity after reinstalling
Office.

The question is how to remove the extra rules. I can't see a way to select
more than one at a time, and each time I ask to remove it, a dialog box
comes up asking if I'm sure I want to do that. This is quickly becoming too
tedious. Any idea how to do this more quickly?

The mechanisms for dealing with rules, particularly in the area of
exporting and importing, are woefully lacking. There's no way to delete
many rules except one at a time (or delete the entire rules file and
start over, your choice).

You can at least disable them so they don't interfere, and delete a
bunch every now and then until you've got it all cleaned up. Hey! 30
rules is nothing; this happened to me with about 80 rules.
