how do I download contacts from Outlook to my Samsung m500 phone

[Wanting to know about downloads]

I have a Samsung SPH m-500 cellular phone. The manual says its compatible
with Outlook, but I don't know how to download my contacts and calendar to my
phone using the USB cable.
