How do I edit a sound object embedded in a Power Point show?

I need to edit an existing sound object in a Power Point show thatt I did not
create (I wish to change the sound without removing it or re-embedding it).
I am trying to modify and create a show that runs with the slides advancing
automatically and the sound playing with it. I do not wish to have it play a
CD, but for the souund to be in the file. The show that I have created now is
bulky and locks up other users computers.

The only feature that allows "edit" mobility in PowerPoint deals with Play
options and display options. PowerPoint won't be able to "edit" the sound
file. For you to do that, you need a free editor like audacity at:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Since you don't want to run a CD, I assume that the file will be embedded
after you "shrink" the size of the audio file. If you need to "pull" the
sound file from PowerPoint to work with it, the best way is to:
make a copy of the ppt file (never work from originals)
save the copy as a web page (this creates a folder with the sound file
separated from the presentation). Now you have access to the file for editing.
Once you have edited the sound file, you can re-embed into the Presentation.
Hope this helps and is what you're looking for!!!
