How do I embed music in Powerpoint?

Okay, I've read all the posts, and tried it ALL. I can hear my music playing
beautifully on my PP. The .wav file is 4.41KB. When I email it, it does not
play. I tried increasing the link size to 500 KB. I tried putting both the PP
& .wav file in new file. I tried removing the music from PP, then reinserting
the .WAV music file from new file that only the PP and .WAV reside. Still,
nothing. This is a major PSA presentation for tomorrow AM. Any IDEAS ??????

Are you testing the file from within the email program?

Save the PPT file from the email onto your harddrive. Save it in a folder on
the C drive called Test. (So you'll save it to C:\Test, not to your desktop
or my documents or something.) Then double-click the PPT file to open it and
see if the WAV plays then.

Also, I read above that you converted the MID to a WAV. How did you do that?
Your WAV is only 4 KB -- that's *really* small for a WAV, so it makes me
wonder if you just renamed the extension from MID to WAV. If so, that's the
problem.

Finally, just in case your WAV is really a WAV and it's 4MB (4,400 KB
instead of 4.4KB), go to Tools|Options and put 50000 in that "link sounds
above XXX kb" instead of 500. Then reinsert the WAV.

Good advice from Echo

As well you can check whether its really a wav by trying to use it as a
transition sound. In the sound box in slide transition pane scroll down to
"other sound"
If the file wont insert it isnt a wav!
You can put the presentation and the sound file in a folder, insert the
sound and then save the whole folder to be emailed or put on a cd. The sound
wont be embedded but it should play ok.--
