Since installing vista i cant run MS Picture it, a program that was
useful to me cos of the effects I could achieve ie pastel, water
colour, oils etc. Does MS publisher have the same facilities? Chiefly
can I produce a black line drawing from a colour photo? Alternatively
is there some way I can install MS Picture it with a bridging tool?
or is there a new version of Picture it or silimar I could buy?
Thanks

==================================
MS Picture It! evolved into MS Digital
Image...but the latest and last version
was 2006 because the line has been
discontinued.
The last release...'MS Digital Image Suite
2006 Anniversary Edition' was optimized
for Vista and it's still possible to find copies
at online sites like Amazon and eBay.
There is still a 60 day trial version you can
download if you would like to give it a try.
Microsoft Digital Image
Starter Edition 2006

or...
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...ED-A15F-48C5-B724-7796FE8C151E&displaylang=en
(this product line has been
discontinued but you can still
download the Starter Version
and run it for 60 days)
Unlike the retail version...the trial does not
have the ability to create VCDs and it does
not include the clipart and pre-formatted
projects.
Before spending money on a new program...
try the following freeware:
IrfanView
http://www.software.com/irfanview
(get the plug-ins too)
http://www.software.com/irfanview-plugin
After you download and install IrfanView...
open a photo in IrfanView and go to...
Image / Convert To Grayscale
Image / Effects / Edge Detection
Image / Negative
Image / Auto Adjust Colors
Now...go to...File / Save As...
Choose a folder
Enter a name
Choose a format
Save
FWIW...if you go to...Image / Effects / Effects Browser...
you'll find more options to experiment with.
