How do I get rid of the update links message in PowerPoint?

Hi,
I am trying to get rid of the Update Links message that appears when you
open a PowerPoint containing links to other documents/files. I have tried
breaking the links and changing the setting to Manual from Automatic, but
both of these disable my linked files, which are bits of film that run when
you click on the pictures that they are linked to. I want to get rid of the
update message, so that the file opens immediately as though you have clicked
on cancel when the message appears.

I'd be very grateful of any help!

How did you insert the videos? PPT doesn't usually give an "update links"
warning with videos.
