how do i get solver?

hi i am working through a book and it says to do a task i need solver which
can be located in the tools menu. But it says if it is not there then you
must install it, which happens to be my PROBLEM. So can you tell me how to
install or just get the solver option?

Tools|Add Ins|Solver Add-In (Sometimes just Solver in older versions). When
adding an Add In, it's often a good idea to restart Excel, you may avoid a
lock up with some versions of the application.
