How do I get the contents of my Contacts into Outlook address boo.

Chris

I have recently upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2003 Professional
edition. In the past I was able to access the address book from Word without
having Outlook as the default for E-mail, contacts etc.Now with 2003 I cannot
access the address book from Word unless Outlook is set as the default mail
carrier, which I do not want to do as I prefer Outlook Express. Could someone
explain to this poor simpleton a way around this problem.

It has always been necessary for Outlook to be the default mail program.
That's what provides the MAPI transports for the Outlook Address Book.
