How do I group Entourage email recipients?

Hi everyone!
First of all, please excuse my ignorance.
I have an iMac and use Microsoft Entourage to send and receive emails.
I have over 100 email addresses stored in the address book.
I would like to know how I can select 15 recipients from this list to
send regular emails to them without having to manually select each one
by one into the TO box which I have been doing and is very tedious. I
receive many emails from different groups and organisations where they
just group everyone under a title and send it to the group as a whole.
I guess it is very simple, but I cannot work out what to do! Please
can anyone enlighten me?
Thanks

Hi John,

it's actually very easy to do. The feature you are looking for is called
"Group", and you can create groups through File>New>Group. Add people to
your group, save it, and it will be available as a single entry in your
contact list.

I connect to an Exchange server at work from home. Within my "home" set of folders that connect to this server, when I go to File> New, the word "Group" is the only one that appears in grey...in other words, I cannot create a group. I must go to the "on my computers" set of folders, create the group in there, and then drag that group into the contacts folder in my "home" set. Further, when I do send an email to that group, instead of listing the group name in the "To:" field, it shows all the individual names of the recipients...also a drag. I would hope it would only show the group name in that field, protecting the privacy of members of the group. I am using Entourage 2008 on a Mac Book (intel). Suggestions?

Groups do not synchronize with the Exchange Server. This is a limitation of
the Entourage application. However, you can create groups and save & use
them within Entourage; they simply will not be copied to the Exchange
Server.

To have the recipient list concealed, check the option for "Don't show
addressesŠ" in the group window.

This is a common request. If you want to see this feature in a future
version of Entourage, be sure to send feedback to Microsoft.

Hi Todd!

Please be sure to start your own new discussion rather than adding to
someone else's discussion. The questions and answers aren't always the same.

The reason you can't create a Group within your Exchange Contacts list
is that Entourage does not support syncing Groups with Exchange.
Entourage does support distribution lists but those are created by the
Exchange Administrators and are not modifiable by you.

To best protect the privacy of your E-mail recipients, be sure to use
the BCC field rather than trying to rely on a Group name. That's not
going to hide anyone's name very well.

Hope this helps!
