How do I increment dates like 8/13/2004 to 9/13/2004 automaticall.

I would like to know how to increment from cell to cell date that is of a
mm/dd/yyyy structure. Since each month can have either 28, 30 or 31 days, I
couldn't figure out how to do it. I don't have to show the numeric day, so if
someone could show me how to increment from month to month and keep the years
incremented as well (11/2004, 12/2004, 1/2005, 2/2005,...) would be good
enough. Thanks.

Select the first date and the cells that you want to fill.
Edit>Fill>Series, check the Day button, Step Value = 1.

Just copy down from the starting cell?

Say you have entered a date in A1: 08/13/2004
(with A1 formatted as: mm/dd/yyyy)

To copy, just point your cursor at the "fill handle"
i.e. at the bottom right corner of A1
(cursor will become a black cross)
Drag down

Excel will auto-increment the date as you copy down

Thanks, this did the trick when I indicated I wanted the month rather than
the default day.

This certainly incremented them by each day, which will be useful in the
future, Niek's answer actually was what I needed, thanks for your reponse, I
appreciated it.
