How do i insert a logo that is saved as a bitmap over jpeg bkgrnd

I am creating a business card and I placed a jpeg image as my backround and
designed the text in the appropriate places. Now I want to add a small logo
that is a medical symbol but it is saved as a bitmap and every time I try to
do this it replaces the background jpeg image with the symbol. I want that
symbol as a logo that shows on top of the background image

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Try this. In a blank document, insert your bitmap, then using Fomat >
Picture, on the Layout tab select In front of text. Also, using the Picture
toolbar make the bitmap transparent (use the Set Transparent Color pointer).
Now, copy and paste the resulting picture onto your business card. Hope this
works.
