How do I make a visual aid growth chart ?

I'm trying to make a very simple chart for my church to display monthly or
quarterly growth for contributions made for a special fund raiser. Something
appropriate for a bulletin board. Office XP

Well, I have the usual thermometer on my web site. It is a .wmf file so you can
adjust the mercury(?).
