How do I make text in a box fade when the next box appears?

I can't find how to make text fade after viewing it when I advance in the one
slide to the next text frame.

As long as you are using Version XP or more recent, the simplest technique
to employ is to assign an exit fade, set After Previous, to the object that
you would like to make go away...

Thanks, Rick - I like the look of your book - however it's too much for just
doing a fade. I got as far as you said but I want to keep the text still
visible but either faded or a different colour after use - I don't want the
text actually to go away. It's rather like a used Web address which changes
after you've used the hyperlink. I'd rate your quick response very highly if
I could find out how to rate it
with appreciation.

Hi Deryck

What version are you on? XP/2002 & 2003 have animation schemes that you can
apply - you are after the one called 'appear & dim' (animation schemes are
found in the taskpane drop down list). Alternatively, you can apply a dim
after effect on the animations - click on the drop down arrow next to an
applied animation and select 'effect options' -> after animation -> select
colour to change to.
