How do I open the activities tab on a shared outlook contact

Within our network each individual has shared their "contacts" with
permission level of "owner". This gives other users the ability to work on
and alter contact details. However another user is not able to open the
"Activities" tab for a contact that was not created by them. This means that
past e-mails, journal notes etc can not be viewed by a 2nd user. The sharing
permission level does not seem to alter this. Does anyone have an answer to
this problem. Thanks
