How do I paste text from web into Outlook note field in Contacts

When I hightlite text in aol or web and paste into note field of Contacts in
Outlook or into Word, I get a small box..bluish with yellow...no text.
It shows as properties
"Devise Individual Bitmap
Can’t open object. Object is static. Operation isn’t allowed"
HELP!!!! I am desperate! It sometimes works...but quite often, doesn't.
