How do I print to non A4 paper on an HP 450C Plotter from Publish.

Running Publisher 2003 (fully patched) on a Windows 2000 SP4 (fully patched)
laptop, when I print to a HP 450C Plotter (connected to a SBS 2003 server) I
can only print the top left A4 "Window" of the job. Prior to upgrading to
Office 2003 (running office 2000) there was no probloems in plotting up to a
full A0 job. Does anyone have any idea of what is going on and more
importantly is there a fix or work-around?

Have you asked HP? They have many, many support documents as well as drivers. This
would be a printer problem rather than a Publisher issue.
I'd look for you but plotter owners need a password for the HP support documents.

I take your point, HP recommended that I visit the office update site, and
make sure that I have all the latest updates from Microsoft. I have tried to
print large format prints from Excel 2003 which work OK, which would tend to
suggest that it is not a HOp plotter driver issue. I have also noticed from
the newsgroups that people have had problems plotting to HP 750 series
plotters from Visio 2000 and 2003. I don't know if this is indicative of any
commonality in the printing engines in both Visio and Publisher?

Printer manufacturers have a habit of pointing you at the software
manufacturers and blaming them for driver problems.

Excel spreadhseets make nowhere near as heavy demands of printer drivers as
Publisher or Visio documents, and so are less likely to find problems with
the driver.

I take it you have set your paper size in File > Page Setup > Printer and
Paper and File > Page Setup > Layout (in that order)?

Also, have you tried creating a PDF of your document and printing to the
plotter from that?

Hello again,

I have just tried creating a PDF of the A1 Publisher file and plotting the
PDF - it works OK, so as a work around I guess it works, however it does not
address the core problem of Publisher 2003 files and HP plotters
(Specifically the 450C). I am going to try and find a different driver for
the plotter, maybe that will work.
