How do I put my voice behind my PowerPoint slides?

What programs do I need to put my voice behind each PowerPoint slide?
I have a microphone but do I need a special programs besides the microphone.
I am using the PowerPoint 2002 version.

Click Insert, then movies and sounds, then record sound
if you want to add a file using diffrent software click insert, movies and
sounds, sound from file.
