How do I remove a delete prompt

Whenever I highlight a block of text and press the delete key, I am prompted
on whether I really want to do it and must hit the 'y' or 'n' key to proceed.
I have never seen this before, and I cannot figure out how to turn the
prompt off. I would appreciate assistance in doing this. Thank you.

In Word, click on Tools | Options | General | uncheck the two boxes for
WordPerfect help and navigation | OK.
