How do I remove "global" addresses?

We changed our domain name about 4 months ago, and a lot of people still have e-mail addresses auto-completeing from the old domain. How can we get rid of these

For example, if I type "ja" in the "To:" field, it will show both "[email protected]" and "[email protected]" for autocomplete options. [email protected] is NOT in my contact list, and i've searched everywhere in outlook and cannot find where to remove this. It's happening in both Outlook 2000, Outlook 2002 and Outlook 2003

The problem is that the name isn't in the contacts. If I do that search, it doesn't return anything. If I select to do the search on all mail folders, it comes back with a handfull of responses. If I delete those, it actually deletes the mail from the folder but doesn't get rid of the problem

I'd like to accomplish this without having to delete the old emails @olddomain because they are frequently refered back to

There may be more than one way to accomplish this, but here is an idea. Go to Contacts, select "Find", type in @olddomain. It will find everyone with that old domain name. Delete the contacts.

Sorry. If it doesn't show up in Contacts, I'm not sure where to look for it so that you can delete it. You may want to repost and see if someone else can help.

Go into Options, Preferences, E-mail options, Advanced
Email Options and untick the box that says Suggest names
while completing, and it will stop suggesting your old
addresses. There is a way to clear out this cache but I
can't remember it at the moment. If you put this back on
without clearing the cache the problem will return.

In Microsoft Outlook when you type a recipient's name in
the To box of a message, the AutoComplete feature's list
of possible name resolutions contains names of contacts
that you deleted.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, begin by typing the name in
the To box of a message and then, when the AutoComplete
list appears, press the DOWN ARROW key to select the
address of the deleted contact and press the DELETE key to
remove the entry from cache.
How to Correct Single Auto-complete Entries
Single Auto-complete entries (Auto-complete entries that
show only one item in the list) cannot be deleted. To
correct the incorrect entry, add a second entry that uses
the same first three letters as the original, and then
delete the incorrect entry. Use the following steps to
delete the bad entry:
In a new e-mail message, in the To box, type the correct
name (the first three letters must be the same as the old
incorrect one).
In the CC box, type the first three letters of the
recipient to reveal the auto-correct name list with both
entries now showing.
Use the arrow keys to move the selection to the incorrect
entry, and then press DELETE.
